Alice was in the Orange Order and husaband James later joined her in the 50's and 60's, marching each year until they moved from Liverpool due to work commitments. When Alice and James later returned to Liverpool they loved going to Southport every July 12th. In her later years when it was difficult to get to Southport, she always tried each year with sister Joyce to make her way by train - if not, they managed to go to St George's Hall and watch the bands coming home! Her last effort was 2006.
